Nurse practitioners currently do not have a dedicated remuneration model through the provincial government and are therefore unable to bill OHIP for their services. Like colleagues in naturopathy, physiotherapy, dentistry, and optometry, we charge patients directly for care. As of April 1, 2026 the Ontario government has not yet announced a plan for remuneration of their services therefore nurse practitioners will continue to bill for their services until informed otherwise.
